Fern Brady (born 26 May 1986, in Bathgate, West Lothian) is a Scottish stand-up comedian, writer, and broadcaster. She studied English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, where she edited the student newspaper, and initially trained as a journalist before moving into stand-up comedy in 2010, reaching the final of So You Think You're Funny? in 2011.

About Fern Brady

Brady has appeared on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Live at the Apollo in 2018, and Taskmaster series 14 in 2022, and co-presented the BBC podcast Wheel of Misfortune with Alison Spittle from 2020 to 2023. She has written for The Guardian since 2021. Her 2023 memoir Strong Female Character won the non-fiction category at the Books Are My Bag Readers' Awards and the inaugural Nero Book Awards.

Brady was diagnosed with autism in 2021, an experience she has written and spoken about extensively as part of her stand-up material and wider advocacy for autism awareness, including through her appearance on Taskmaster.
