James Morrison
James Morrison, born James Morrison Catchpole on 13 August 1984 in Rugby, Warwickshire, is an English singer-songwriter. Raised partly in Newquay, Cornwall, after a childhood illness left him with a distinctive rasping voice, he began busking on the streets of Newquay and Truro before being discovered.

About James Morrison
His debut single, You Give Me Something, reached number five on the UK Singles Chart and earned platinum certification in 2006, the same year his first album, Undiscovered, topped the UK Albums Chart and sold more than a million copies, making him Britain's best-selling male solo artist that year. He won Best British Male Solo Artist at the 2007 Brit Awards.
His second album, Songs for You, Truths for Me, released in 2008, reached the UK top three and included Broken Strings, a duet with Nelly Furtado that peaked at number two on the UK singles chart. Later albums, The Awakening in 2011, Higher Than Here in 2015 and You're Stronger Than You Know in 2019, continued his run of UK top-ten releases, the first of these returning him to number one.
Beyond his own recordings, Morrison has written songs for other artists, including Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson and Olly Murs, and has continued to record and perform internationally in the years since.
