Oresteia
The Oresteia is a trilogy of ancient Greek tragedies by Aeschylus, first performed in 458 BC, telling the story of the fall of the House of Atreus: the murder of Agamemnon by his wife Clytemnestra, their son Orestes' revenge killing of her, and his subsequent trial for the crime. It is one of the foundational works of Western drama.

About Oresteia
The trilogy has been adapted for the stage many times. A widely staged modern version by British director Robert Icke premiered at London's Almeida Theatre in 2015 and won him an Olivier Award for direction, condensing the original three plays into a single contemporary domestic drama. Other adaptations have continued to appear, including a version by director Simon Stone staged at London's Bridge Theatre.
