Rise Against
Rise Against is an American punk rock band formed in 1999 in Chicago, Illinois, initially performing as Transistor Revolt before signing to Fat Wreck Chords in 2000. The band consists of Tim McIlrath (vocals, rhythm guitar), Joe Principe (bass), Brandon Barnes (drums), and Zach Blair (lead guitar).

About Rise Against
Playing a melodic hardcore style built on aggressive tempos and hook-driven songwriting, the band broke into the mainstream with singles including "Give It All" and "Swing Life Away" (2004), followed by albums such as The Sufferer & the Witness (2006), Appeal to Reason (2008), and Endgame (2011). Their single "Savior" set records for consecutive weeks on rock and alternative radio charts.
Rise Against is known for socially and politically engaged lyrics addressing topics such as animal rights, environmentalism, and LGBTQ+ rights, with several members openly identifying as straight edge and vegan advocates for those causes. The band has been credited with bringing melodic hardcore from the underground onto mainstream radio, television, and the charts.
The band released its tenth studio album, Ricochet, in August 2025, continuing a recording and touring career that has run continuously since 1999.
