Fête de l'Escalade 2026 in Geneva

Each December, Geneva transforms into a living history book as the Fête de l'Escalade commemorates the city’s victory over the Duchy of Savoy in 1602. The cobblestone streets of the Old Town come alive with majestic historical parades featuring hundreds of participants in period costumes, accompanied by drums, trumpets, and brass bands. Soldiers, artisans, and citizens recreate the ambiance of 17th-century Geneva, offering visitors a chance to witness a faithful reenactment of the events that cemented the city’s independence.
