Senyawa: Indonesian Experimental Duo Debuts in Madrid

Senyawa, the Indonesian duo from Java, makes its Madrid debut at CentroCentro. Formed in 2010, Rully Shabara and Wukir Suryadi create music dedicated to the interaction between nature and humanity, blending improvisation, ritual resonances, echoes of traditional Indonesian music, extended vocal techniques, and a rare timbral palette from self-built instruments.

Their sound draws from backgrounds in art and theater, as well as a youthful fascination with extreme metal. Open to collaboration, they have worked with artists such as Oren Ambarchi, Damo Suzuki, Otomo Yoshihide, and Rabih Beaini. The concert takes place in the Auditorio of CentroCentro, located at Plaza Cibeles.
