À la découverte des quartiers parisiens : Montparnasse, autour de l'atelier d'Alberto Giacometti 2026

This guided walking tour, led by a speaker from the Comité d'histoire de la Ville de Paris, explores the Montparnasse neighborhood through the lens of its artistic heritage. The focus is on Alberto Giacometti's modest studio at rue Hippolyte-Maindron, where he lived and worked from 1926 until his death, creating nearly all of his oeuvre. Along the way, the guide shares stories of the many other artists Giacometti encountered in this vibrant quarter.

Participants will discover the ateliers of Parisian artists, with the walk forming part of a series of six balades that also cover sites like the Musée Bourdelle, La Ruche, and the Musée Zadkine. A digital application developed by the City of Paris's Department of History, Memory and Associated Museums enriches the experience with historical context. The tour is free but limited to 25 people, with mandatory reservation opening on 28 July 2026.
