Carte blanche à Gautier Garrigue — Joy Loop quartet

Gautier Garrigue, a drummer and composer born in 1987 and hailing from the south of France, takes the stage at the intimate 38Riv Jazz Club in the heart of the Marais. He brings together an exceptional quartet for an evening of musical reunion and bold improvisation. The lineup features Ludovic Ernault on alto saxophone, Richard Sears on piano, Adèle Viret on cello, and Garrigue himself on drums.

The carte blanche format has become a ritual for these four musicians, all leaders and composers in their own right, who share a repertoire drawn from their respective universes. United by a taste for well-defined melodies and the unexpected that arises from live encounters, they offer a contemporary jazz experience that showcases their deep musical connivance. Garrigue, a finalist in the 2025 Victoires du Jazz and winner of the prestigious Prix Django Reinhardt, is described by Jazz Mag as one of the most sensitive and refined drummers on the current scene.
