La Cuisine Musicale: A Family Opera Feast

This playful "lyrico-spiced concert for little and big gourmands" turns the Théâtre du Châtelet's Grand Foyer into a musical kitchen. Every utensil becomes an instrument—a counter-frying pan, a spoon-flute, a harp-playing oven, a balafon made from syrup bottles, and a saucepan oud—as classic opera melodies are reimagined through rap, techno, and world music.

Audiences are invited to join the fun, laughing, singing, and clapping along with the kitchen staff. The participatory recipe blends food and music, inspired by Rossini's belief that life itself is a four-act opera-bouffe of eating, loving, singing, and digesting. It's a delightful introduction to opera for children aged 4 and up, presented as part of the Châtelet's young audience program, Les P'tits Fauteuils.
