Lévitation: Mathieu Forget, 10 Years of Photography

For over a decade, Mathieu Forget has pursued a single artistic quest: capturing the precise moment the body leaves the ground. A dancer, photographer, and artistic director, he works both behind and in front of the lens. Each image is the result of a real performance—no montage, no trickery, only a fraction of a second where the body seems suspended between fall and elevation.

This open-air exhibition on the railings of the Tour Saint-Jacques presents 44 photographs selected from Forget's most striking works, created across several continents over the past ten years. The images create a natural dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation, inviting passersby to slow down, observe, and see the city anew. The vertical architecture of the monument echoes the suspension captured in the photographs, offering a poetic experience of elevation.

The free exhibition explores themes of movement as a universal language, the body as living architecture, and photography as a compression of time. Set against the backdrop of Parisian urban space, the works transform the city itself into part of the exhibition, encouraging visitors to look up and appreciate the fragile instant of levitation.
