Marga Alfeirão - LOUNGE

Marga Alfeirão's LOUNGE is a sensual dance duet that explores slow-motion movements, relaxation, and the affirmation of femininities. Two performers support, brush against, and gaze at each other, building a space where desire circulates without imposition. The choreography uses simple, erotic, and slowed gestures, with contact, breath, and gaze as the main vectors of a shifting sensuality between the one who acts and the one who receives.

The title plays on the English word "lounge"—both as a verb meaning to laze and a noun for a public relaxation space. Alfeirão, a Lisbon-based artist influenced by African diaspora cultures, develops a choreographic writing where the body becomes a political and sensitive space. She creates secure environments to explore intimacy and sexuality through feminine perspectives, asserting an aesthetic of rest and pleasure as acts of resistance against exposure and performance logics.

Presented at CENTQUATRE-PARIS in the 19th arrondissement, this event is part of the Festival d'Automne. The venue is a residency, production, and performance space welcoming artists from around the world, with a musical program spanning pop rock, electro, chanson, world, classical, and contemporary music.
