The Ballet de Lorraine presents a double bill celebrating 21st-century hybrid dance forms. Karole Armitage's *Rave*, created in 2001, fuses voguing and martial arts to a driving techno score by David Shea, performed by 25 dancers in a colorful, virtuosic parade. The piece channels the explosive energy of club culture into a celebration of life and carnival.
Complementing Armitage's work, the duo MazelFreten (Brandon Masele and Laura Defretin) offers a new creation for the company. Known for their electro and hip-hop vocabulary, they sample and subvert classical ballet codes, set to an electronic composition by Chloé Thévenin. The result is an unexpected space where disciplines contaminate and transform each other.
