The Ambiguous Dance Company, founded by choreographer Boram Kim, brings its acclaimed piece *The Belt* to Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse. The work draws inspiration from the industrial revolution and contemporary rave culture, transforming the theatre into a time-travel machine. Kim's company, known for its unclassifiable style blending hip-hop, classical ballet, and contemporary dance with surgical precision, presents a two-part piece that questions our relationship with transmission and progress.

The title evokes the continuous movement of a conveyor belt, symbolizing kinetic energy linking past and future. Spectators are invited to slip into thematic "chambers" where dancers bring the memory of the walls to life. The performance includes an iconoclastic reinterpretation of Ravel's Boléro and a hypnotic illustration of the company's philosophy: "all humans must communicate through dance." With a futuristic, cyberpunk aesthetic, the group embodies a vision of modernity where extreme physicality challenges the limits of endurance, punctuated by techno rhythms and nods to dance history.
