This exhibition at the Institut du Monde Arabe explores the pivotal moment of marriage in the Maghreb, showcasing an exceptional selection of costumes and parures never before shown in France. The display features around forty pieces from Moroccan, Algerian, and Tunisian collections, dating from the 19th to the 20th century, celebrating brides and the women who surround them while highlighting national and regional specificities.

Alongside these heritage pieces, the exhibition presents the work of 27 contemporary artists, primarily women from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and their diasporas. Their subjective perspectives on marriage rituals and societal evolution are paired with an immersive scenography that brings to life the dances, music, costumes, and food of this cultural heritage. A festive parade, "Raconte-moi ton mariage," directed by Mohamed Bourouissa, inaugurates the accompanying cultural program.
