Dead Calm

Dead Calm is a 1989 American psychological thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce and produced by George Miller. The story follows a married couple, played by Sam Neill and Nicole Kidman, who encounter a mysterious stranger (Billy Zane) while sailing in the Pacific Ocean. Filmed around the Great Barrier Reef, the movie is known for its tense atmosphere and oceanic cinematography.

The film was nominated for eight Australian Film Institute Awards, including Best Film, and won four.
