Jack Rooke brings his acclaimed debut show *Good Grief* to Leeds, a deeply personal and humorous exploration of grief and loss. Drawing from his own experience of losing his father at 15, Rooke uses comedy and documentary-style storytelling to navigate the awkwardness of death, turning a difficult subject into a poignant and uplifting evening.
Originally developed at Soho Theatre, *Good Grief* earned Rooke a nomination for Best Show by an Emerging Artist at the Total Theatre Awards and was highlighted by *The New York Times* among the top theatre at the Edinburgh Festival. The show also served as a platform to protest cuts to Widowed Parents Allowance, partnering with the Childhood Bereavement Network to raise awareness.
Attendees can expect a blend of sharp wit and heartfelt reflection, delivered by a comedian who has since become a BAFTA-winning writer for his Channel 4 series *Big Boys*. This is a rare chance to see the show that launched his career, performed in an intimate setting.
