Jack Rooke brings his acclaimed debut show *Good Grief* to Brighton, a deeply personal and humorous exploration of loss and the awkwardness surrounding death. Drawing from his own experience of losing his father at 15, Rooke blends comedy with documentary-style storytelling to create an evening that is both poignant and uplifting.
Originally developed at the Soho Theatre, the show earned Rooke a nomination for Best Show by an Emerging Artist at the Total Theatre Awards and was highlighted by *The New York Times* as a top Edinburgh Festival pick. Beyond entertainment, *Good Grief* has a social conscience: it protested government cuts to Widowed Parents Allowance and partnered with the Childhood Bereavement Network to raise awareness.
Attendees can expect a warm, candid, and often hilarious night from a comedian who has since become a BAFTA-winning writer for his Channel 4 series *Big Boys*. Rooke's ability to find laughter in grief makes this a uniquely moving experience.
