Jamie McIntyre is an American journalist with a career spanning more than four decades, from his start as a Sunday morning disc jockey in Gainesville, Florida, to his role as senior Pentagon correspondent for CNN. Known for his military and national security reporting, McIntyre has covered stories from over 65 countries and logged more than 500,000 air miles traveling with defense officials.

Beyond his serious journalism, McIntyre has a lighter side: he was named "Third Funniest Reporter on the Planet" in a 2006 charity competition at the Laugh Factory in New York City. He also placed third in the "Funniest Celebrity in Washington" contest at the DC Improv that same year. In 2010, he was the judges' choice as "DC Funniest Reporter" at the Commedia del Media event at the National Press Club.

McIntyre's career includes stints at CNN, NPR, Al Jazeera America, and the Washington Examiner, where he currently writes a newsletter, Daily on Defense. He was at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, after it was struck by a missile, and has taught multimedia journalism at the University of Maryland.
