Read full details
Madra Salach, the Dublin-based contemporary-folk band whose name translates to "Dirty Dog" in English, brings their distinctive blend of traditional Irish music and modern sound to Oxford. Formed in 2023, the six-piece group has quickly made a name for themselves with their debut EP "It's a Hell of an Age," which topped the Irish Independent Albums Chart and reached number 3 on the overall Irish Albums Chart.
Attendees can expect a lively performance featuring the band's signature fusion of trad instrumentation—mandolin, tin whistle, harmonium—with contemporary folk songwriting. The setlist draws from their acclaimed EP, including singles "Blue & Gold" and "I Was Just A Boy," as well as the traditional ballad "Murphy Can Never Go Home" that inspired the EP's title. Having played major festivals like All Together Now and Electric Picnic, Madra Salach brings a polished yet intimate energy to their live shows.
