Too Much Too Young: A Tribute to The Specials

This event celebrates the iconic live EP "Too Much Too Young" by The Special A.K.A. featuring Rico Rodriguez, released in January 1980. The EP famously topped the UK Singles Chart for two weeks, becoming only the second EP to do so and the first live recording since 1975. Attendees can expect a high-energy atmosphere paying homage to the ska and 2 Tone era, with the lead track based on Lloyd Charmers' 1969 song "Birth Control."

The EP's B-side features the "Skinhead Symphony" medley, blending "Long Shot Kick De Bucket," "The Liquidator," and "Skinhead Moonstomp" — recorded live at Tiffany's in Coventry. The event captures the raw energy of The Specials' legendary live shows, including the controversial track that sparked BBC edits for its contraceptive references.
