Η Κουζίνα: A Theatrical Feast in Athens

Now in its second year in Athens, this Greek-language staging of Arnold Wesker's play The Kitchen is directed by Giorgos Koutlis and returns to the stage on 14 October 2026. Set entirely within the kitchen of a busy restaurant, the play uses the pressure of a relentless service as an allegory for the wider global labour system, with an ensemble of actors playing cooks drawn from different countries working alongside one another under strain. It is marketed as political allegory shot through with dark humour and social commentary rather than anything to do with cookery, despite what the title might suggest on its own.
