A Christmas Carol is a musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Mike Ockrent and Ahrens, based on Charles Dickens's 1843 novella. The show was staged annually at Madison Square Garden's Theater in New York from 1994 to 2003, directed by Ockrent with choreography by Susan Stroman, running each December for a decade before the production closed.
It later became the basis for a 2004 Hallmark television adaptation shown on NBC. This production in Napoli on Saturday 12 December 2026 stages that same Menken-Ahrens score and book, bringing Dickens's ghost story back to a live theatre setting for the Christmas season.
