Aggiungi un posto a tavola is a musical comedy written by Pietro Garinei, Sandro Giovannini and Jaja Fiastri, with music by Armando Trovaioli, inspired by David Forrest's novel After Me, the Deluge. It premiered in Rome on 8 December 1974, directed by Garinei and Giovannini, with Johnny Dorelli as the priest Don Silvestro, Paolo Panelli as the mayor and Bice Valori as Consolazione, staged on the Sistina theatre's turning stage.
The plot follows Don Silvestro, a priest in a fictional Italian mountain village, who receives a phone call from God warning of a second flood; he must build an ark and repopulate the earth, setting off a chain of comic and romantic complications. The original run lasted six months and drew around 700,000 people over 630 performances, an unprecedented success for Italian theatre at the time.
This performance in Milan, on Thursday 4 February 2027, brings the show back to the stage under its original title.
