Run Rome The Marathon is a 42.195 km race through the heart of the Eternal City. The course starts from the Fori Imperiali with the Colosseo at your back, passing Piazza Venezia, the Vittoriano, Circo Massimo, and Castel Sant'Angelo, before reaching Viale della Conciliazione with the Basilica di San Pietro as your backdrop. Thousands of runners from around the world participate on this route.

The event also features the Acea Run4Rome Relay Race, where teams of four cover the marathon distance together, each running a different leg (11 km, 12.5 km, 8 km, and 10.695 km), supporting non-profit organizations. On Saturday 13 March 2027, the Water Fun Run – Saturday 5K offers a 5 km walk or run inside the Circo Massimo, open to all ages and even four-legged friends. The Expo Village at Circo Massimo is free to enter and accessible via Metro B.
