Breaking Borders returns to Malta from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September 2026, the latest edition of what organisers bill as the world's biggest Desi destination festival, bringing South Asian music to the island for four nights. Punjabi star Karan Aujla headlines two separate sets, on the Friday and Sunday, performing different setlists each night, while AP Dhillon headlines the Saturday show.
The wider line-up includes Jasmine Sandlas, Sukha, The PropheC, Tegi Pannu, Harkirat Sangha, BK, Panjabi MC, Miss Pooja and Prabh, alongside DJ takeovers from Desi Beatz and Jawani 4eva. The festival draws a large diaspora crowd from the UK and beyond for a weekend built around Punjabi and South Asian pop, hip-hop and bhangra, not the visual-arts and installation programme the original listing described.
