'Persepolis' de Marjane Satrapi

Marjane Satrapi's acclaimed autobiographical film *Persepolis* returns to cinemas in a newly restored 4K digital version, playing at Cinema Ideal from 16 to 22 July 2026. The screening pays tribute to Satrapi, who passed away in June 2026, and her enduring legacy as a voice for women's rights, particularly through the Woman, Life, Freedom movement.

The film adapts Satrapi's graphic novel of the same name, tracing 15 years of Iranian history through the eyes of her childhood self. From the 1979 revolution to the Iran-Iraq war, it follows young Marjane as she navigates a world of political upheaval and personal growth. On 18 July at 18h, a special session features a conversation with Hugo van der Ding and actress Maria de Medeiros, dedicated to Satrapi's life and work.
