Rostos do Variedades - um ciclo de cinema

This second edition of Cinecapitólio presents a film cycle celebrating the 100th anniversary of Teatro Variedades, a landmark of Portuguese popular culture. Screenings take place at Capitólio and Cinema São Jorge, featuring classic Portuguese films from the 1930s to the 1960s.

The program includes works by directors such as Cottinelli Telmo, Arthur Duarte, Perdigão Queiroga, and Chianca de Garcia. Titles like "A Canção de Lisboa" and "O Costa do Castelo" offer a nostalgic journey through the faces that shaped both the theater and national cinema.

Organized in partnership with Cinemateca Portuguesa, the cycle is a tribute to the performers who made Teatro Variedades an iconic stage. With free entry, it's an inviting opportunity to experience vintage Portuguese cinema in historic venues.
