Pafos Beer Festival: five nights of craft beer by the castle

Pafos Beer Festival sets up on Castle Square, the open plaza in front of Paphos's medieval fort on the Kato Paphos harbour promenade. Over several evenings the square fills with more than 150 beers on pour — Cypriot brews next to familiar European lagers and small-batch craft beer from microbreweries most visitors won't have come across before.

The format is simple: live music from local and touring rock and pop bands, DJ sets between them, and street food stalls lining the edges of the square. There's no ticket and no gate — admission is free, so people wander in from the harbour, stay for a beer or three, and leave when they're done rather than committing to a full night out.

Because it runs right against the castle and the harbour water, it works well tacked onto an evening that already includes the fort and the promenade — arrive after dinner, walk the harbour, then drop into the square once the music starts. It's a low-key add-on to a Paphos evening rather than a festival to plan a trip around, which is part of its appeal for anyone staying nearby.
