Abigails Party
Abigail's Party is a play devised and directed by Mike Leigh, developed through improvisation with its cast rather than written as a conventional script. It premiered on 18 April 1977 at the Hampstead Theatre in London before an extended run, and was later adapted for television as part of the BBC's Play for Today strand that same year.

About Abigails Party
Set at a suburban drinks party in Essex hosted by Beverley and Laurence Moss for their new neighbours, the play satirises the aspirations and tastes of Britain's newly affluent middle class, with tensions building over the course of the evening. Alison Steadman starred as Beverley in the original stage and television productions, and the BFI ranked it among the 100 greatest British television programmes in 2000.
