Alemeda
Alemeda, born Rahema Shifa Alameda on December 13, 1999, is an Ethiopian-Sudanese-American singer-songwriter raised in Phoenix, Arizona, after her mother immigrated from Ethiopia. Raised in a strict household with limited exposure to secular music, she has said her early interest in performing was partly sparked by watching "High School Musical" as a child; she adapted her stage name from a Gurage-tribe surname, altering the spelling for online searchability.

About Alemeda
She began releasing music in 2020 and 2021, and her single "Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows" (2021) went viral on TikTok, earning millions of streams; the follow-up "Post Nut Clarity" (2022) also became a viral hit. Her sound blends alternative rock and pop-punk with R&B-inflected melodies, and she has spoken about the scarcity of women who share her background working in rock music.
After years of independent releases, Alemeda signed to Top Dawg Entertainment in partnership with Warner Records in September 2024, becoming the label's first primary rock artist and only its third female signee alongside SZA and Doechii. Her debut EP, "FK IT" (2024), included the songs "Don't Call Me" and "Already Dug Your Grave."
In 2025, she released the single "Beat A B!tch Up" featuring fellow TDE artist Doechii, along with a second EP, "But What The Hell Do I Know," further building on the pop-punk and alternative-rock sound that has made her one of the label's rising acts.
