Alison Moyet
Alison Moyet was born Genevieve Alison Jane Moyet on 18 June 1961 in Basildon, Essex. She began her career singing in punk and blues bands before forming the synth-pop duo Yazoo with former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke in 1981, after answering a Melody Maker advert he placed.

About Alison Moyet
Yazoo released two UK hit albums, Upstairs at Eric's (1982) and You and Me Both (1983), before splitting. Moyet then launched a solo career, and her 1984 debut album Alf topped the UK charts and produced the hit singles "All Cried Out" and "Love Resurrection."
Known for her powerful, bluesy contralto voice, she has continued recording solo material over four decades, including the albums Hometime (2002) and Voice (2004).
