Big Thief
Big Thief is an American indie rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2015, though songwriter Adrianne Lenker and guitarist Buck Meek had already been performing together as a duo since 2013. The group's current lineup is Lenker on vocals and guitar, Meek on guitar, and James Krivchenia on drums, with Joshua Crumbly joining as a touring bassist. The band's music draws on indie folk, Americana, folk rock, alt-country, and neo-psychedelia, built around Lenker's intimate, image-rich songwriting.

About Big Thief
Big Thief released its debut album, Masterpiece, in 2016, followed by Capacity in 2017, both earning widespread critical acclaim. U.F.O.F. (2019) and the double album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You (2022) further cemented the band's reputation, with the latter reaching the top ten of the Dutch albums chart. The band's ninth song "Not" received Grammy nominations for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance, while U.F.O.F. and Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You were both nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.
The band built its following through prolific songwriting and constant touring, with Lenker also maintaining an acclaimed solo career alongside her work in the group. In 2024, longtime bassist Max Oleartchik departed after nine years with the band, described as leaving for interpersonal reasons, and the remaining trio recruited touring musicians to fill out the lineup.
Big Thief released Double Infinity in 2025, its first album recorded as a core three-piece working with session musicians, continuing the band's pattern of restless, collaborative reinvention on stage and in the studio.
