Bilmuri is the primary recording project of American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer Johnny Franck, born June 8, 1990, in Columbus, Ohio. Franck first gained attention as clean vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the metalcore band Attack Attack!, departing the group in 2010 before launching Bilmuri in 2016; the name is a play on actor Bill Murray.

About Bilmuri

Since the debut album Jaguar Shark (2016), Franck has released more than a dozen full-lengths under the Bilmuri name, blending metalcore, bedroom pop, country, and hip hop within the same songs, and signed to Columbia Records in 2024. Releases such as Muri and Friends and Eggy Pocket, both from 2020, have featured guest turns from Jon Mess of Dance Gavin Dance and members of Dayseeker.

Franck also fronted the group The March Ahead from 2011 to 2020 and runs an acoustic side project called Chayr, alongside producing records for other artists through Johnny Franck Studios. Live, Bilmuri sets move between heavy breakdowns, singalong hooks, and quieter acoustic passages, reflecting the project's genre-hopping catalog.

In recent years the act has toured supporting Babymetal and Sleep Token, extending its reach beyond its metalcore origins.
