About Birdman
As a solo artist, Birdman released the albums Birdman (2002), Fast Money (2005), 5 Star Stunna (2007) and Priceless (2009), all of which charted on the Billboard 200. His collaborative album with Lil Wayne, Like Father, Like Son (2006), reached number three, and the single "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" won a BET Viewer's Choice Award. Cash Money went on to produce twelve number-one albums and seven number-one singles on the Billboard charts.
He is also one half of the duo Big Tymers with producer Mannie Fresh and a member of the group Cash Money Millionaires. Birdman is credited with discovering and mentoring Lil Wayne, who became the label's president in 2007, and the roster later grew to include Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga after a distribution deal with Universal Records in 1998.
In 2014, he founded the label imprint Rich Gang, working with younger artists such as Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan, and in 2024 announced new signings aimed at expanding Cash Money into the Latin music market. Birdman remains active as the public face of Cash Money Records, combining his recording career with talent development.
