About Boosie BadAzz
His major-label debut, Bad Azz (2006), included the single "Zoom" and established him as one of the most prominent figures in Southern hip hop. He has since released more than a dozen studio albums, among them Superbad: The Return of Boosie Bad Azz (2009), Incarcerated (2010), and BooPac (2017), along with numerous mixtapes and collaborative projects released through his own label, Bad Azz Music Syndicate.
In October 2014 he changed his stage name from Lil' Boosie to Boosie Badazz, saying he wanted to move past the diminutive as an adult and father. His career was interrupted by a prison sentence on drug charges from 2009 to 2014 and by an acquittal on a first-degree murder charge in 2012; he has continued releasing music steadily since his release, also speaking publicly about living with type 1 diabetes and surviving kidney cancer.
