Choppa is the stage name of Darwin Turner, an American rapper and singer from New Orleans, Louisiana, active in the city's uptempo bounce scene since 2000. He built a local following through independent releases before signing with Take Fo' Records.

About Choppa Style
His debut album, Choppa Style, released in 2001, took its title from the lead single, which became a local New Orleans hit. In 2003, Master P signed Turner to the relaunched No Limit Records, and a re-recorded version of Choppa Style reached number 94 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming his best-known and signature work.
Musically, the album sits within bounce, the up-tempo, dance-driven strain of New Orleans hip-hop. Turner went on to release Straight from the N.O. (2003), which reached number 54 on the Billboard 200, and Da Real Choppa (2005), building a catalogue often billed alongside other Cash Money and No Limit-affiliated New Orleans rap acts.
Beyond music, Turner has appeared in films including Hollywood Homicide and Malibu's Most Wanted, and revived the Choppa Style name for a 2013 mixtape, his first solo project in seven years.
