Daniel Caesar, born Ashton Simmonds in Scarborough, Ontario in 1995 and raised in Oshawa, is a Canadian R&B singer of Bajan and Jamaican descent. He left home at seventeen to pursue music, drawing on a religious upbringing that continues to shape his songwriting.

About Daniel Caesar
His sound merges contemporary R&B with gospel and neo-soul influences, introduced on his debut album Freudian (2017), which included the Grammy-winning "Best Part" featuring H.E.R. He reached a wider pop audience with "Peaches," a 2021 collaboration with Justin Bieber and Giveon that topped the Billboard Hot 100, and has since released Case Study 01 (2019), Never Enough (2023) and Son of Spergy (2025).
