Dashboard Confessional is an American rock band from Boca Raton, Florida, formed in 1999 around singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba. The band's name comes from a song on the group's debut album, The Swiss Army Romance (2000), and its early acoustic sound, built on confessional, emotionally direct lyricism, helped bring the emo genre to mainstream American audiences.

About Dashboard Confessional

Carrabba has remained the band's sole constant member; the current lineup includes bassist Scott Schoenbeck, guitarist Armon Jay, guitarist and keyboardist Kenny Bridges, and backing vocalist Abigail Kelly, with earlier long-serving members including guitarist John Lefler and drummer Mike Marsh. Studio albums include The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar, Dusk and Summer, and 2022's All the Truth That I Can Tell.

The band's best-known songs include "Screaming Infidelities," "Hands Down," and "Vindicated," the latter featured on the soundtrack to Spider-Man 2. Rolling Stone placed The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most among the 40 greatest emo albums of all time. Dashboard Confessional was active from 1999 to 2011, went on hiatus, and reformed in 2015, continuing to tour and record.
