Dave Hill's Slade is the touring incarnation of the English band Slade led by guitarist Dave Hill, born April 4, 1946, in Holbeton, Devon. Hill co-founded the group in Wolverhampton in the 1960s alongside drummer Don Powell, bassist Jim Lea and singer Noddy Holder, and remained its lead guitarist through the band's evolution from the Vendors and the 'N Betweens into Slade. Following Powell's departure from the lineup in 2020, Hill became the sole original member still performing as Slade.

About Dave Hill's Slade

Slade was among the most commercially successful acts of the British glam rock era, scoring 23 UK top-20 singles and six number ones between the early 1970s and early 1980s, beginning with 1971's "Get Down and Get with It" and including the perennial "Merry Xmas Everybody." Lea and Holder, who wrote most of the band's material, left in 1992, after which Hill continued the group, releasing the album Keep on Rockin' in 1994 under the name Slade II before reverting to the Slade name.

The current band pairs Hill with John Berry on lead vocals, bass and violin, Russell Keefe on vocals and keyboards, and drummer Alex Bines; Berry, Keefe and Bines each bring prior experience touring with other British acts including Mud, the Sweet, the Bay City Rollers and the Rubettes. Dave Hill's Slade tours the UK regularly, including a December run built around "Merry Xmas Everybody," and remains active on the European festival circuit performing the band's 1970s hit catalogue.
