About DR John Cooper Clarke

His poems Evidently Chickentown and I Wanna Be Yours have reached audiences well beyond poetry circles, the latter after Arctic Monkeys adapted it for their 2013 album AM. His 1983 collection Ten Years in an Open Necked Shirt was a bestseller.

On stage he performs largely a cappella, delivering his work at speed with the timing of a stand-up comedian.
