Drain is an American hardcore punk band formed in 2014 in Santa Cruz, California, by drummer Tim Flegal alongside fellow University of California, Santa Cruz students. The current lineup is Sammy Ciaramitaro on vocals, Cody Chavez on guitar, Flegal on drums and Greg Cerwonka on bass.

About Drain

The band's sound merges hardcore punk with thrash metal, described by critics as old-school California "fight music" filtered through '80s thrash. Drain has released material through Epitaph Records, Revelation Records and Wide Eyed Noise, including the studio albums California Cursed (2020), Living Proof (2023) and ...Is Your Friend (2025).

Live, the band builds sets around fast, riff-driven songs and heavy audience participation, with Ciaramitaro's shouted vocals anchoring performances that lean on hardcore's stagediving and crowd-surfing traditions.

The New York Times has credited Drain as part of American hardcore's renaissance in the early 2020s, and the band remains one of the more visible acts to emerge from that scene.
