Durand Bernarr, born Bernarr Durand Ferebee Jr. on September 16, 1988, in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American singer-songwriter, producer and DJ working across R&B, soul, gospel and jazz. Raised by a mother who worked as a vocal coach and a father who worked as an audio engineer, he began posting cover songs online in 2008.

About Durand Bernarr

Erykah Badu discovered his cover songs online in 2010 and hired him as a background vocalist, a role he has held since 2011 while also lending featured vocals to records by Anderson .Paak, Kaytranada and the Internet. His solo albums include the EP Sound Check (2016) and the full-lengths DUR& (2020), En Route (2024), BLOOM (2025) and BERNARR. (2026); BLOOM won the Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album in 2026.

Bernarr first drew wider attention in 2019 as a runner-up on the BET competition series The Next Big Thing, and was named an artist to know by Billboard the same year. Blending theatrical delivery with R&B and hip hop influences, he has continued to balance session and background work for other artists with an increasingly prominent solo career built on live looping and audience interaction.

Following BLOOM's Grammy win in 2026, Bernarr released the album BERNARR. the same year, extending his run of solo releases. He also performs as DJ TBD and remains a frequent collaborator and background vocalist for Erykah Badu alongside his own recording career.
