About Dying Fetus
The band's sound combines brutal and technical death metal with elements of grindcore, built around rapid blast beats and guttural vocals. Their nine studio albums span Purification Through Violence (1996) to Make Them Beg for Death (2023), with Destroy the Opposition (2000) singled out by Decibel magazine among the notable death metal releases of the 2000s.
Dying Fetus built its following through extensive touring and pointed political lyrical content, gradually moving from the underground into wider recognition. A viral social media campaign in 2013 helped secure a slot at the UK's Download Festival the following year, and their music later reached a mainstream audience via a 2019 episode of South Park.
The band has remained active over three decades, continuing to record and tour internationally while retaining Gallagher's original songwriting approach at its core.
