The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1971. Founding members Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner built the group's sound around close vocal harmonies and a blend of rock, country rock, and folk rock. Guitarist Don Felder joined in 1974, followed by Joe Walsh a year later, and Timothy B. Schmit replaced Meisner in 1977. Following Frey's death in 2016, Henley, Walsh, and Schmit continued the band with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, Glenn Frey's son.

About Eagles

The band's commercial peak came with Hotel California (1976), which has sold more than 32 million copies worldwide, and Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975), one of the best-selling albums in U.S. chart history. Earlier album One of These Nights (1975) marked the group's breakthrough, while The Long Run (1979) and the later Long Road Out of Eden (2007) extended their catalogue after a period of inactivity in the 1980s.

The Eagles have won six Grammy Awards and five American Music Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Rolling Stone ranked them among the 100 greatest artists of all time. Their live shows draw on close vocal harmony arrangements across their catalogue, including full-album performances of Hotel California with orchestral accompaniment and an extended residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
