About Ella Mai

American producer DJ Mustard discovered her music and signed her to his label, 10 Summers Records, distributed through Interscope. Between 2016 and 2018 she released three EPs, Time, Change and Ready, the last of which included Boo'd Up, a sleeper hit that reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and set a record for the most weeks at number one on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart by a woman. The song won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Song in 2019 and was also nominated for Song of the Year.

Her self-titled debut album followed in October 2018, reaching number five on the Billboard 200 and earning a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album; its single Trip reached number 11 on the Hot 100. She followed with a second album, Heart on My Sleeve, in 2022, which peaked at number two on the R&B chart and received a deluxe reissue in 2023, and an EP titled 3 in 2024.

Mai released her third studio album, Do You Still Love Me?, in 2026. Over her career she has also won Billboard Music Awards and multiple Soul Train Music Awards, and in 2024 she had a son with basketball player Jayson Tatum.
