Hayseed Dixie are an American band formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2000, known for creating what they call "rockgrass" — bluegrass-style covers of hard rock songs played on acoustic instruments, alongside original satirical material. Their debut album, a set of hillbilly-style reworkings of AC/DC songs, was released in April 2001. The band is led by John Wheeler on vocals, guitar, violin, mandolin, and piano, with Jake "Bakesnake" Byers on acoustic bass, Hippy Joe Hymas on mandolin and guitar, and Richard Collins on banjo.
