Hot Water Music is an American punk rock band from Gainesville, Florida, formed in October 1994 and named after a Charles Bukowski short-story collection. The lineup pairs founding members Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard on vocals and guitar with bassist Jason Black, drummer George Rebelo, and guitarist-vocalist Chris Cresswell, who joined in 2017.

About Hot Water Music

The band's catalog spans Fuel for the Hate Game (1997) through its commercial breakthrough Caution (2002), favorably reviewed by AllMusic and Absolutepunk, and later albums including Exister (2012), Feel the Void (2021), and Vows (2024). The Caution track Remedy appeared on the soundtrack to the video game Tony Hawk's Underground. Critics regard the band as a formative influence on the 2000s emo and post-hardcore scene, citing its impact on acts such as Against Me!, La Dispute, and The Gaslight Anthem.

Hot Water Music broke up in August 1998 and reformed within months, then split again in 2006 before reuniting in 2008. The band has remained active since, recording for labels including No Idea Records and Epitaph, and recently signed to Equal Vision Records for its ninth and tenth studio albums.
