Jane McDonald
Jane McDonald was born in Wakefield, England, in 1963. She began her singing career performing in workingmen's clubs across the north of England before taking a job as a singer on cruise ships including the Black Prince, Horizon, Zenith and Century.

About Jane McDonald
She became widely known after appearing in the 1998 BBC documentary series The Cruise, which led to a recording contract; her eponymous debut album topped the UK Albums Chart. She went on to present BBC's The National Lottery and Star for a Night, and was a panellist on Loose Women from 2004 to 2014. She later became known as the host of the Channel 5 travel series Cruising with Jane McDonald, which won a BAFTA TV Award for Best Feature in 2018, and has continued to release studio albums.
