About Jimeoin

He rose to national prominence in Australia in the early 1990s with his self-titled sketch and stand-up program, Jimeoin, which aired on the Seven Network for three seasons in 1994-95. His observational, largely improvised style focuses on the absurdity of everyday situations rather than scripted routines. He released the ARIA-charting comedy album Goin' Off in 1993 and received five ARIA Award nominations for Best Comedy Release between 1994 and 2010.

Jimeoin made his Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 1993 and has returned most years since, building a following in the United Kingdom. He co-wrote and starred in the feature films The Craic (1999) and The Extra (2005), and has appeared on British television including Live at the Apollo, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. The BBC Northern Ireland documentary series Jimeoin Down Under (2005-2008), following a tour of the Australian outback, extended his profile in the UK.

He hosted SBS's football-and-comedy program The Full Brazilian during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Based in Melbourne, he continues to tour internationally with stand-up shows built around his trademark observational material.
