Josh Johnson
Josh Johnson is an American stand-up comedian and writer born March 16, 1990, in Alexandria, Louisiana. He studied lighting design for theater at Centenary College of Louisiana, graduating in 2012, and began performing stand-up at open mics during college. He went on to write for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon before joining The Daily Show as a staff writer in 2017.

About Josh Johnson
Johnson has released three hour-long stand-up specials: # (Hashtag) in 2021, Up Here Killing Myself in 2023, and Symphony, his HBO debut, in May 2026. He was named New York's Funniest Stand-Up at the New York Comedy Festival in 2018 and has received an Emmy nomination for his writing. On The Daily Show, he was promoted to correspondent in February 2024 and joined the program's weekly rotation of hosts in July 2025.
Johnson spent several years as an opening act for Trevor Noah on the Loud & Clear tour. He later headlined his own Flowers tour, which sold out across more than 100 cities, before a further run billed as the Comedy Band Camp tour. He also publishes stand-up material weekly on YouTube, where routines such as "Catfishing the KKK" have drawn more than 13 million views, and voices the character Harry Buns on the Disney Channel animated series Kiff.
